Pride CAS | Company News & Stories — July 2026
We’re excited to share some great news from the Pride Commercial Appliance Service team. As of July 1, 2026, Blake and Trever have officially joined us full-time as Apprentice Service Technicians!
Both came to Pride CAS through local BOCES Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs, and both spent time completing formal Co-Op programs before joining the team full time.
About PrideCAS Co-Op Programs
In partnership with BOCES, Pride CAS offers Cooperative Immersive Training Programs (Co-Ops) which invite local CTE students in to complete in-person training hours in place of attending their CTE classroom instruction. This program is designed to give students a real look at the work, the pace of the field, and what it means to be part of our team.
Blake, Rochester Office
Blake is from Holley, just outside of Rochester, and attended Monroe 2 BOCES in their HVAC/R program. He first connected with Pride CAS last fall through ride-alongs with our technicians. By the spring, he had joined us as an official co-op student in our Rochester office.
Over that time, Blake got to see the day-to-day reality of commercial kitchen equipment service. He rode along on service calls, spent time with our Rochester technicians, and started learning what it takes to build a career in this trade.
“I wanted to work for Pride because of how welcoming everyone was. I was nervous at first to start at a true HVAC/R company, but all of the technicians and office staff were amazing. PrideCAS now feels like home!” – Blake C.
“Blake made sure his interest in PrideCAS was known after PrideCAS visited his HVAC/R classroom. This enthusiasm and initiative was exactly what we wanted to see in a future Pride technician.”- Jason H, Service Manager
Blake is now working out of our Rochester headquarters, where he’ll continue learning commercial kitchen equipment repair, maintenance, and installation alongside our service team.
Trever, Albany Office
Trever is from Queensbury and is joining our Albany office. He started with Pride CAS last summer as a co-op student through his HVAC/R program through WSWHE BOCES Career and Technical Education program.
Over the past year, Trever has spent time in the field with our Albany technicians, learning the trade one service call at a time. He’s had the chance to see the variety of work our team handles, from troubleshooting to maintenance to customer service, and he’s continued to grow throughout the process.
“This trade seemed like the right fit for me for several reasons; I enjoy working with my hands, traveling new places each day, and solving problems that help our customers’ businesses succeed!” – Trever S.
“Trever showed remarkable aptitude for our industry. Always on time, in good spirits and willing to learn. He is an excellent representative of the BOCES programs and the students they cultivate!” – Jayden H., Albany Tech
Trever will continue building his skills with our Capital Region team.
The Future of Technicians
Pride CAS has always believed in giving people the chance to learn the trade the right way, by getting out in the field, working alongside experienced technicians, and seeing the work firsthand.
That’s why our partnerships with BOCES Career and Technical Education programs throughout NYS are so important to us. They help connect motivated students with real career opportunities in the skilled trades.
Blake and Trever both took that first step through ride-alongs and co-op placements. Now, they’re taking the next step as full-time members of our team.
We’re proud to have them here and excited to see where their careers go.
Welcome to the Pride CAS team, Blake and Trever!
A. An Apprentice Service Technician works alongside experienced Pride CAS technicians to learn how commercial kitchen equipment is repaired, maintained, and installed. Apprentices build their skills over time by observing, assisting, asking questions, and gradually taking on more responsibility under supervision.
A. BOCES Career and Technical Education programs help students explore careers, gain hands-on experience, and build real-world skills before entering college, technical school, or the workforce, according to Capital Region BOCES and BOCES Career & Technical Education. For Pride CAS, those programs are a natural fit because they introduce motivated students to skilled trade careers in a structured, practical way.
A. No. Apprentices learn under the guidance of experienced technicians. Their training starts with observation and supervised work, then grows as they develop technical skills, safety awareness, customer service experience, and confidence in the field.
